Eunmi Hwang is an associate attorney at Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi P.C. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the State of New York in 2017.
Ms. Hwang received her J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law where she served the community as a Student Attorney in the Children’s Rights and Family Law Clinic and in the Bankruptcy Law Clinic.
Prior to joining Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi P.C. Ms. Hwang worked at the New Jersey litigation firm of Fischer Porter & Thomas, P.C., handling complex tasks in a variety of business-related and personal injury cases.
Ms. Hwang’s career path to the law began in theatre.
“I vividly remember the first moment when the theatre gave me comfort and my sincere wish to share that experience with people suffering in situation similar to mine… Law is how I can repay what I personally owe to art, and how I can finally achieve my goal of helping people attain happiness through art and self-expression. In this sense, law is art to me and I am ready to dedicate myself to it.” Eunmi Hwang in 2013
Ms. Hwang was an actor and director at theatre for many years, originally from Seoul, the Republic of Korea, where she received her B.A. from Seoul Institute of the Arts, the renowned drama school in the nation. Thereafter, she participated in many productions as an actor, director and/or production manager in Seoul and New York City. In particular, she had a great opportunity to be part of “MIKA”, a commemorative event celebrating International Day of Women Against Violence in 2008, to be presented at the United Nations. Ms. Hwang was the only Korean actor in “MIKA”.
Ms. Hwang’s passion for arts led her to settle permanently in the U.S.A. and decide to become a lawyer to help people. Having communication skills developed throughout her whole career as an actor and director at theatre, Ms. Hwang wants to apply it for advocacy to represent people whose voice have not been heard. As she stated “law is art” above, she strongly believes that her advocacy will help people attain happiness.
