Chris DiGirolamo Recognized as One of Bergen County’s Top Lawyers
Chris DiGirolamo is one of the managing partners at Maggiano, DiGirolamo, & Lizzi P.C. and has recently been honored by being selected as one of Bergen County’s top lawyers in the field of worker’s compensation. This award is part of Bergen Magazine’s efforts to identify some of the region’s most prestigious and sought-after lawyers in the country. The magazine partnered with DataJoe Research, which is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.
The Selection Process
DataJoe implemented a peer-vote process to identify the top lawyers in Bergen County. During this vote, attorneys county-wide were asked to select amongst their peers those whom they believe are most effective in their fields—the lawyers they would choose themselves, if they needed legal representation. DataJoe also vetted the winners to ensure that they currently held licenses to practice law in the State of New Jersey. In addition to removing any attorneys that aren’t currently licensed, they also removed those whom the regulatory board had disciplined for any infractions.
About Chris DiGirolamo
Chris holds a license to practice law in the State of New Jersey in both State and Federal Courts. He is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. His specialties include worker’s compensation, including on-the-job injuries and construction accidents. He has also represented the rights of victims in car accidents and falls and is known for his extensive work handling litigation for union workers. This litigation, in addition to worker’s compensation claims, has covered product defects and employment disputes.
Some of the verdicts resulting from his cases have resulted in multi-million dollar settlements. In one case, he helped victims recover $101 million in restitution—the largest personal injury recovery settlement related to a construction injury in the history of the United States. For Chris, however, the size of the case is not the most important consideration. As the grandson of a coal miner, he has seen the havoc that dangerous jobs can wreak upon workers. His grandfather passed away from lung disease as a result of poor accountability in mines and steel mills in the 1960s.
