Christopher DiGirolamo Gives Engaging Talk at Meadowlands 2014

Christopher DiGirolamo was chosen to open the Workers Compensation full day program presented by the New Jersey Association For Justice on November 14, 2014, held at the Meadowlands Hilton, East Rutherford, NJ

DiGirolamo spoke on the challenging topic of Workers Compensation Lien obligation and its significance and importance in 3rd party litigation.

“Opening a line of communication and dialogue with all the parties involved is the key to successfully navigating through the difficult litigation landscape when work related injuries were caused by a third party.  It is critical to the outcome to explain to all parties from the very beginning of the litigation process how each party impacts on the entire case.

The liability carrier must be made aware of the exact lien obligation, the workers compensation carrier must understand the complexity of comparative fault in every workplace accident, the client must understand how the workers compensation lien obligation impacts on his net recovery, and an open and honest dialogue must be maintained with your legal adversary on all the lien issues.  The central theme of this presentation is the importance of consistent and frequent communication.”

Dozens of attendees requested individual time with DiGirolamo following the program in order to discuss the program highlights and to get more insight from the speaker on their individual case issues.  He has been recognized as an authority on the topic of liens due to his unique position in handling both the workers compensation aspect of a case as well as the 3rd party litigation and has been asked to lecture on the topic over ten (10) times.

This seminar was a follow up to the program DiGirolamo gave for the New Jersey Association of Justice at the annual Boardwalk Seminar held in April 2014, and he was asked to lecture at Meadowlands based on strong attendee feedback.  He expanded the topic to include the impact of recent cases on lien obligations.
