NJICLE 2014 South CLEFest: Adding Power and Persuasion With Video

Michael Maggiano to Speak at CLEFest on August 15

Michael Maggiano, senior partner at the New Jersey personal injury law firm of Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi, will speak at the NJICLE 2014 South CLEFest put on by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Education.

One of the CLEFest morning sessions is “Presentation of Evidence: Adding Power and Persuasion with Video,” which will discuss controlling the presentation of evidence during a trial.

“Research shows that verbal communication coupled with visual communication enhances recollection eightfold,” the CLEFest website states. “Therefore, it has become more and more important that you make your point concisely and effectively when you present your case to the judge, jury, or mediator.”

Maggiano will be presenting on “The Settlement Video” and how a professional, well-crafted video can help you capture the attention of the judge and enhance your argument. Videos appeal to different juror learning styles and they can also considerably speed up trial proceedings.

Maggiano has worked extensively on the impact of video on the courtroom, including publishing a paper titled “Motivating the Modern Juror With Videotaped Testimony.”

South CLEFest is a chance for community members to continue their legal education, earn course credits, and network with judges, attorneys, and other New Jersey legal professionals. One morning session (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or one afternoon session (1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) costs $160, or you can attend both sessions for $190.
