December 9, 2016: Leading trial attorney Michael Maggiano of Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi was requested by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal education to present a half-day program entitled New Jersey Attorneys on New Jersey Cross Examination. The importance behind this very special event was to teach trial lawyers sophisticated techniques in the art of cross examination, the most powerful and valuable tool of the Trial Advocate; a skill that many attorneys have yet to learn.
Michael Maggiano is a highly regarded advocate and well known of his skillful cross examinations particularly of expert witnesses. The New Jersey Institute invited its members statewide to attend this event and learn from his exceptional cross examination skills in a wide array of case types. In fact, Maggiano has had such successes that he has been published on the topic and has held many lectures throughout the country on the techniques that he has carefully developed over decades and virtually hundreds of trials.
Others attending and speaking at the event included Judge Mary Costello, Presiding Judge Civil Division for Hudson County, who spoke on leading cases and Evidentiary Rules. The other panel members were defense attorneys Daniel Pomeroy, Esq. of Pomeroy Heller & Lay, Louis Ruprect, Esq. of Ruprect, Hart, Weeks and Riccarduli, and Plaintiff Lawyer Diane Cardoso, Esq. of Javerbaum, Wurgaft, Hicks, Kahn & Wikstrom.
An astounding one hundred and ten attorneys throughout the state attended the lecture and demonstration and gave an “exceptional” rating for the program. Many people were quoted as saying about the event, “This was a fantastic panel,” “Great interaction and advice from well prepared and highly qualified panel,” and “This was an exceptionally good seminar” just to name a few. This is not the last of events that you will hear from Michael Maggaino – pretty soon he will be back with NJ ICLE on his highly respected and sought after program known as “Deposition Strategies.” Watch out for the latest news.
