Juneteenth Awareness

Translation

“Today is June 19, 2020 and ‘Juneteenth,’ the now 155 year old holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans from slavery.

We celebrate this holiday and stand in firm solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the fight of African Americans and people of color for the dream of this country truly achieving its potential and the fulfillment of its ideals.

Those ideals include the achievement of government of the people, by the people and for the people…words spoken by President Lincoln one hundred fifty five years ago…words that inform our Constitution.

We also celebrate today and every day the Dominican community, history and culture that continues to be such a great part of this very neighborhood.

The firm of Maggiano, Digirolamo and Lizzi stand ready to give assistance to and represent in whatever form, those persons fighting and protesting for the achievement of those ideals we all live by and cherish.
