Tattoo Ink, USB Adapters and Mountain Bikes Recalled

White & Blue Lion, Inc. Tattoo Inks, Needles, and Kits

White & Blue Lion, Inc. of California has recalled tattoo inks and needles through Amazon.com. The inks and needles were contaminated by pathogenic bacteria, which could lead to bacterial infection and sepsis, a potentially life-threatening complication. As of July 11, 2014, one illness had been reported and the Food & Drug Administration had confirmed the contamination.

The recall includes all tattoo inks, needles, and kits distributed by White & Blue Lion. The specific types of ink and needles listed below are included in the general recall.

The inks and needles were sold in tattoo kits, and the inks are also sold separately through 8Decades and White & Blue Lion, Inc. The affected inks come in all colors and were sold in 5 ml bottles. The code reads “Lot No. OR20036,” “Batch #8,” and “Best if used by 16/12/16.”

The affected needles were individually packaged in groups of 5 and labeled as “CE0197 Pre-made tattoo needle” and “sterilized by E.O. Gas.” Find a full list of affected codes and lot numbers here

Popkiller USB Chargers, Adapters, and Cables

Popkiller has issued a recall of approximately 2,500 USB car charger adapters, power adapters, and 8-pin charger cables. The plug blades were improperly mounted and the electronic circuitry is inadequate, leading to increased risk of fire and electrical shock.

The affected car chargers have model number HHT-001 located on the flat side of the charger below the USB port. The charger is 2 inches tall and 1 inch around at the widest point. The affected USB power adapters have model number A1265 printed above the plug blades on the grey surface. The adapter measures 1.5 inches at its longest point and 1 inch wide.

The recalled products were sold between June 2013 and April 2014 at Popkiller retail locations for between $4.50 and $6.50. They were available in red, orange, green, blue, purple, and pink.

GT Downhill Mountain Bicycles

Cycling Sports Group, Inc. of Connecticut has issues a recall of 2014 GT Fury Expert and 2014 GT Fury Team downhill mountain bicycles. The affected bicycles’ wheel hubs can break and cause the brake system to fail, increasing the risk of crash and injury.

Approximately 120 bikes in the U.S. and 32 in Canada are affected. So far, Cycling Sports Group has received five reports of broken hubs. The bicycles were sold at authorized GT dealers between February and June 2014 for between $4,300 and $6,000.

The Fury Expert model is blue with red and white accents, while the Fury Team model is black with lime green and blue accents. “Fury” is displayed on the top tube and bottom of the chainstay, and the “GT” logo is on the down tube and top of the chainstay.
