Position Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and capable of managing multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings.
  • Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical) using our case management system FileVine.
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting subpoenas, organizing exhibits, and managing document production.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, mediations, and client meetings.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, adversaries, and vendors professionally.
  • Perform legal research and gather relevant case-related information as needed.
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and attorney reminders.
  • Handle administrative duties such as scanning, copying, mail distribution, and data entry.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a legal support role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and litigation processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Korean preferred.
  • Must be based near or in Bergen County to work.
