About Christopher DiGirolamo
Mr. DiGirolamo joined Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi in 1992 and serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His practice concentrates on motor vehicle collisions, construction accidents, workers’ compensation, and product liability.
For more than 3 decades, he has secured numerous multi-million-dollar verdicts and recoveries for injured workers and their families. He served as co-counsel in the Tropicana Garage Collapse litigation, which produced a $101 million recovery — the largest personal injury recovery in a construction accident in United States history — and as co-counsel with Senior Partner Michael Maggiano on the Route 208 Bridge Collapse case in Hawthorne.
His commitment to injured laborers is personal. His grandfather, an immigrant steel mill worker and coal miner, died of lung disease contracted in unsafe working conditions — a family history Mr. DiGirolamo has credited as the origin of his focus on union workers and working families.
Beyond his trial practice, Mr. DiGirolamo is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a New Jersey State Accredited Mediator. He has lectured on personal injury and workers’ compensation topics for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the New Jersey Association for Justice, and the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and created “The People’s Law School,” an 11-week public legal education course he taught for years through Bergen Community College. He currently serves as a Councilman in Saddle River.
He has received numerous award and legal distinctions, including selection to the New Jersey Super Lawyers list from 2006 through 2026, named among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers, and holds an AV Preeminent® peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
