Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi Team Members Attend Korean Liberation Day Celebration

Jusun Yook and Aron Lee attended a Korean Liberation Day celebration on August 12, held ahead of the August 15 holiday.

Known in Korean as Gwangbokjeol, Liberation Day commemorates the end of 35 years of Japanese colonial rule over Korea, which concluded with the close of World War II in 1945. It remains one of the most significant national holidays observed in both Korea and Korean American communities, and each year it draws gatherings that combine remembrance with celebration.

This year’s event brought together Korean American elected officials, civic organizations, and community leaders from across the region. Among those in attendance were Palisades Park Mayor Chong “Paul” Kim and Assemblywoman Ellen J. Park, who represents New Jersey’s 37th Legislative District.

Attending events like this one reflects a commitment that runs throughout our practice. The Korean American community in northern New Jersey is a community we are proud to serve, and showing up for the moments that matter to our neighbors is part of how we build the trust that our clients place in us.

We are grateful to the organizers and to everyone who took part in honoring this piece of history.
