Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi, P.C. Takes Part in the George Washington Bridge Challenge

On June 7th, 2026, the team at Maggiano, DiGirolamo & Lizzi, P.C. laced up and joined hundreds of participants for the George Washington Bridge Challenge, a charitable race benefiting the American Cancer Society. 

For our firm, it was a meaningful chance to step away from the courtroom and stand alongside our neighbors in Fort Lee to support a cause that touches nearly every family in New Jersey.

The George Washington Bridge Challenge is one of the most unique charitable races in the country. It offers participants the rare opportunity to run or walk directly across the George Washington Bridge while raising money for the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. 

Crossing the bridge on foot is something genuinely special. The structure that thousands of commuters pass over every day without a second thought becomes, for one morning, a shared path traveled by people united around a single goal: creating a future free from cancer. 

The views of the Hudson River and the skyline are unforgettable, but what stays with participants is the sense of community—strangers, families, coworkers, and survivors all moving together toward the same finish line.

Money contributed through the George Washington Bridge Challenge helps the American Cancer Society advance groundbreaking cancer research and provide lodging and transportation assistance for patients who must travel for treatment. It also funds support resources for patients and their families.

Lending our energy to the fight against cancer felt like a natural way to give back to the same community we are proud to serve, both inside and outside the courtroom. The race was a reminder that showing up for one another, whether as advocates or simply as neighbors, is what builds a stronger community.

We were honored to be part of an event with such a rich history and such an important purpose. Our thanks go out to the organizers, the volunteers, and everyone at the American Cancer Society who make the George Washington Bridge Challenge possible year after year.
